It not only covers the land revenue system, but also deals largely with the agrarian economy, socio-economic structure of the village society, agricultural economy and production, nature of the relationship that existed between Maharao’s of Kota, Bundi and the Karshas as well as other sections of the village society. Attempt is also made to understand the system of state farming introduced by the Maharao’s of the Kota. They contributed significantly to improving the economy of this region by making several unique but interesting experiments in the history of Rajasthan. In a similar vein, the nature of jagirdari and muqata systems and the volume of trade and commerce and business communities, environment, ecology, drainage system and geographical features have also been studied and due space is given to the system of revenue administration and the role of the state in extension and promotion of agriculture.
